The EMOCARE project aims to improve the health pathway and the use of somatic care for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in pediatric emergencies. EMOCARE is supported by the ARHM Foundation and EMOFACE.EMOCARE is a digital support based on the recommendations of good professional practices in terms of ASD including an awareness support for health professionals to take into account the particularities of children with ASD, during a course of care in emergencies. . This educational content will be open-source and accessible to any healthcare professional, concerning any type of care. Why create EMOCARE?For an ordinary child, emergencies are complicated to bear and it is an environment that can be stressful. For an autistic child, all the senses are amplified (smells, sounds, light): the slightest rubbing of a doctors gloves or the smell of disinfectant alcohol is difficult to manage and a source of anxiety.Autistic children spend time waiting in the waiting room, among all the other children, it is often noisy and this too can be disturbing. All of these examples are sources of panic and can provoke seizures in an autistic child. These crises can go as far as a total refusal to be auscultated, treated... the child can therefore go home without having seen a doctor...If these situations, sometimes dramatic, could be avoided by an application that would give advice on the relationship with an autistic child, the situations would be more liveable: for the parents, for the medical profession but also for the patients. It is for this reason that EMOCARE was born.
